Sorry Putin, now a MARRIED LESBIAN has won a silver medal at Sochi

To the probable dismay of President Putin, an Austrian lesbian ski-jumper has become the second openly LGBT person to win a medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, who is married to her partner, won the silver medal at the first-ever women’s ski-jump competition at the games.

Dutch bisexual speed skater Ireen Wüst last weekend won the second gold medal for the Netherlands at the Sochi games.

30-year-old Iraschko-Stolz, who is representing Austria in the Sochi Games, last week caused controversy when she said she thought the reaction to Russia’s anti-gay laws had been “exaggerated”.

She has, however, said that she hopes eventually things will change for the better for LGBT people in Russia.

“I hope for the future that the people now can see the sport as a chance to change something. That would be nice. Because everyone looks at Russia and its laws, and I think it’s a good idea to change something.”

Putin signed a law last June which bans the promotion of “non-traditional sexual relationships” to minors causing an outcry ahead of the Sochi games which are currently taking place.

On Sunday he “gave a cuddle” to Ireen Wust, and congratulated her on her victory at the games.
